The Greatest Offering

Genesis 4
Abel took care of flocks
Cain was a ground keeper
Offerings
Abel- gave fat portions from the firstborn of his flock
Cain-fruits

As I was listening to a sermon yesterday a revelation came to me:
Abel brought a sacrificial offering (sacrificial lamb) to possibly cover for the sins of his parents- where sin first began
But it took the lamb that God provided to be slain to cobet the sins of all humanity.

Revelation 5:12
Worthy is the lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength, and honor and glory and praise.

Can you see clearly now?

Blind Bartimaeus was shouting and pressing through the crowd even though the crowd was telling him to be quiet. Bartimaeus would shout louder. He got up threw his cloak down and went to Jesus. He told Jesus he wanted to see Jesus and Jesus told him" Go your faith has healed you!
Mark 10:46-52

It is the step of faith that Bartimaeus took to see again.
He was able to see clearly.
In our own lives we have areas that we need to see clearly on. We need to step out and act or on faith tho receive our healing and clarity of mind.

Do you need help?

In John 5 it tells about a man near the pool of Bethesda that laid there for 38 years. All he had to is get in the pool when the pool was stirring. He needed Jesus to help him get in. Jesus told him to pick up his mat and walk and he was healed.
Sometimes we hold on to things as excuses but need to just pick it up and move forward.
It takes Gods grace to pick the mat up in our lives and move forward.
There is always times we need help to go forward in our life but must be willing to go forward and not give excuses. People can't help you if you can't help yourself.
There is a joke I have with my mom that I will ask for help and she says I always need help.

What is your title?

New International Version
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom
Ecclesiastes 9:10-11

Matthew was a tax collector.
Mark was a follower of Christ.
Luke was a physician.
John was a forerunner for Christ.

Whatever your title is whether a mother, father, daughter, son, teacher, bus driver, manager do it into the Lord. God has given you that task for such a time as this and you may be tired or frustrated but do your individual title with all that you have as you are doing it into the Lord.

Who is speaking?

Samuel was in bed and Eli the high priest was in his bed and Samuel heard his name and went to Eli and found out Eli did not call Samuels name.
1 Samuel 3
It was God speaking to Samuel. How many times does God speak to us and we don't hear Him. We can be often distracted by things around us and not hear what God is trying to speak to us.

Are you persistant?

Hannah wanted a baby and was not able to have a baby. She continued to pray and worship the Lord. After meeting a priest named Eli she promised she would decidate her child unto the priests service if God would answer her prayers. Well she had a baby boy and dedicated him unto Eli in the temple and due to Hannah being faithful God blessed Hannah with 5 more children.

Sometimes we want things to happen right away or the way we think they should. They will not always happen our way because God has his way of blessing the situation We must remain persistant even when we want to give up God will show up on the scene.

Are you afraid?

David was a shepherd boy for a living. One day a giant named Goliath wanted to fight David's people. The difference with David is God was on his side. David took five stones and put a stone on his sling to knock Goliath to the ground and killed Goliath. God is a mighty God and this showed David's people how mighty God is.
You may be facing a giant right now and do not know how you will fight the giant in your life but God is mighty through the giants in your life.

Enjoying the Adventures or Just here

Noah's Wife
Genesis 6:18;7:1,7,13;8:16,18

Noah's wife name is not mentioned in the Bible. All she could see is Noah working away in his yard at a boat telling people the judgement is coming. We don't know if she was for him or against what he was doing for the Lord.We do not know if she was enjoying the journey or just there for it.

Are you to be found righteous? God's desire is leading you to be righteous in His eyes. You may not understand everything going on around you but go along this journey living right with God.

Are you thirsty?

Have you been thirsty after a long hot day? You just longed for a nice cold glass of water....
Jesus went to the well to get a drink and he asked the Samaritan woman for a drink...
Problems....
Jesus was a Jew and she was a  Samaritan woman Jews were not allowed to talk to Samaritan s
Jesus didn't have a cup to draw with

Jesus said, "the water he gives you will never thirst again." John 4:13
Jesus was able to speak to this woman about her past.
From this experience salvation took place.

To disobey or obey

Has God ever told you to do something but you did not obey him? You wanted to do your own thing.

Jonah was told to go to Nineveh but he chose not to and went to Tarshish. For his disobedience he was thrown overboard the ship and was in the belly of a whale for 3 days and 3 nights.
Jonah

There is punishment when we decide not to obey God.

Courageous

Daniel was asked to stop praying to the One true God and pray to the god of King Radius. Since Daniel disobeyed the law King Darius sent out so Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions. God kept Daniel safe. When the king went to check on Daniel he was kept safe and no harm was done so King Darius made a new law and everyone was to pray to the One true God who alone deserves our worship.
We must be courageous and do the right thing because God is watching over us.
Daniel 6

Jesus

Jesus is God's Son. He came to suffer much for you and for me! He was betrayed. He was beaten and bruised for you and me!
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our inquiries; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
Jesus loves you so much and has great plans for you!

Fear Not

Are you dealing with fear?
Are you afraid of the future?
Are you seeking for peace in a situation?

For God has not given us a spirit of fear. but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
 2 Timothy 1:7

The opposite of fear is faith.
We have have power to walk in love and be at peace in the midst of any storm we may face.

Paul worked hard for the Lord. He was put in prison. He had 39 lashes to him 5xs. He was beaten with rods three times. He was shipwrecked. He was stoned. Paul faced so much opposition but trusted God through it all with a sound mind.

Bible Hereos

Do you have a certain Bible character that stands out to you the most? There are so many great men and women of God that did great things for God in their time.
Here are a few:

Susanna- Luke 8:2-3. She was healed by Jesus both physically and spiritually. She served as a servant for the Lord.

Tabitha- Acts 9:36 [Full Chapter]
In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.

Anna-
Luke 2:36-38 [Full Chapter]
There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Ruth-The book tells of Ruth's accepting the God of the Israelites as her God and the Israelite people as her own. In Ruth 1:16-17, Ruth tells Naomi, her Israelite mother-in-law, "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.

I find these woman as unsung hereos as they all did great things for God. Sometimes it is hard to do things for God, but we must be obedient unto the Lord. AS we are obedient He will carry us through.
